inventor-doc software package provides Open Inventor documentation, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install inventor-doc
inventor-doc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the inventor-doc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep inventor-doc *
You will get with inventor-doc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
